Federal Research Programme Drugs
Call for proposals 2016

The research Programmes department of the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office (BELSPO), manages the Federal research programme Drugs.

The research projects funded in this programme support the «Integral and integrated policy on drugs» adopted on 25 January 2010, thereby implementing the Federal policy Note on Drugs of 2001.

This year, 2 topics are retained for the call for proposal.

Introduction

On 25 January 2010, 21 Ministers (at the federal, regional and community level) adopted a Common Declaration on a Global and Integrated approach on Drugs for Belgium. This new approach embraces not only illegal drugs, but also alcohol, tobacco and psychoactive medication. Research in support of the Belgian drug policy is one of the 5 priorities of the Common Declaration. BELSPO is in charge of managing the research programme on Drugs.

Each year, BELSPO prepares an annual working programme that is used for the call of proposals. It is assisted by the Cell “Research and Scientific information” of the General Cell for Drug Policy, in charge of supervising the Belgian policy on drugs
