Mandats de retour pour chercheurs travaillant à l'étranger

En quelques mots...

Les Mandats de retour de la Politique scientifique fédérale entendent favoriser le retour en Belgique de chercheur talentueux menant des activités de R&D dans un centre de recherche étranger. Chaque année, le jury se réunit en mai et propose à la signature du ministre compétent une liste de candidats jugés aptes à recevoir un financement de 24 mois. Les critères de sélection se fondent principalement sur le niveau scientifique du candidat, la qualité et la faisabilité du projet de recherche proposé, l’expertise post-doc acquise à l’étranger et l'utilisation possible de cette expertise et son apport pour l’Unité d’accueil ainsi que les perspectives de carrière en Belgique.
Afin de pallier tout désistement, le jury prévoit également une liste de réserve. Le jury est constitué d'experts belges et étrangers. Sa composition tient compte de la diversité des propositions.
