The overall objective of the JELLYFOR project is to develop a new service to forecast jellyfish occurrence for a given salinity, temperature, chlorophyll-a or other water quality and met ocean parameters.
The technological objectives of JELLYFOR are:
- The development and implementation of algorithms for the oceanographic characterization of the coast using satellite data. Critical indicators are: chlorophyll concentration, temperature and salinity
- The feeding of the acquired measurements into computational models for the inference of meaningful indicators related with jellyfish presence
- The implementation of a prototype GIS platform, which will integrate the different software modules for the output visualization (exportable to Google Earth- 3D)
