| Description nl | De verdere gestaltegeving van een Engelstalige monografie met de geschiedenis van volkstalige Bijbelvertalingen in de Nederlanden, vanaf de laatmiddeleeuwse spirituele hervormingsbewegingen tot aan de periode van de Contrareformatie, is dringend gewenst. Daarbij moet de focus liggen op de ontstaansgeschiedenis tegen de achtergrond van de religieuze hervormingsbewegingen tussen 1400 en 1550, die invloed ervan op tekst en paratekst, theologische discussies en censuurmaatregelen, alsook op het beoogde en effectieve lezerspubliek. Hiervoor is verder onderzoek naar Bijbelexemplaren in bibliotheken in de Nederlanden (en daarbuiten) noodzakelijk-indien niet beschikbaar in digitale vorm-, de (kritische)studie van de nog steeds aanwassende secundaire literatuur, alsook de nauwgezette opvolging van lopende doctoraten over Bijbelse leescultuur.

| Description en | The further rendering of an English-language monograph with the history of vernacular Bible translations in the Netherlands, from the late medieval spiritual reform movements to the period of the Counter-Reformation, is urgently needed. It should focus on its genesis against the background of the religious reform movements between 1400 and 1550, which influence text and para text, theological discussions and censorship measures, as well as the intended and effective readership. For this, further research into biblical copies in libraries in the Netherlands (and beyond) is necessary - if not available in digital form -, the (critical) study of the still developing secondary literature, as well as the careful follow-up of current doctorates on biblical reading culture.
