| Description nl | Het HIE-ISOLDE-project beoogt een aantal belangrijke upgrades van de huidige ISOLDE-radioactieve-straleninstallatie bij CERN. De nadruk ligt vooral op het vergroten van de energie van de radionuclidenstralen van 3 MeV / u tot 10 MeV / u door de constructie van een supergeleidende post-accelerator. De upgrade verbetert aanzienlijk de onderzoeksmogelijkheden in de meeste aspecten van nucleaire structuur en nucleaire astrofysica, waardoor ISOLDE de enige faciliteit ter wereld is die in staat is tot het versnellen van middelzware tot zware radioactieve isotopen binnen dit energiegebied.

| Description en | The HIE-ISOLDE project aims at several important upgrades of the present ISOLDE radioactive beam facility at CERN. The main focus lies in increasing the energy of the radionuclide beams from 3 MeV/u up to 10 MeV/u through the construction of a superconducting post-accelerator. The upgrade substantially enhances research opportunities in most aspects of nuclear structure and nuclear astrophysics, making ISOLDE the only facility in the world capable of accelerating medium to heavy radioactive isotopes in this energy range.
