The Visitors Observatory forms part of the central services of the administration of the Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO).
The Observatory is housed at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, Vautierstraat 29, 1000 Brussels.
Two mandate holders are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Observatory.
As mandate holders, Reinoud Magosse and Joëlle Karnas are responsible for both the coordination and execution of the audience and user research.
They are supported in this role by the advisory committee. The advisory committee meets a minimum of twice yearly and is made up of:
The advisory committee is currently chaired by Ms. Sara Lammens, director general of the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR); the deputy chairman is M. Arnaud Vajda, President of the Federal Scientific Policy Office (BELSPO).
earned a License degree in Occupational Psychology from the ULB. She has worked as a researcher in the Psychology Department of the ULB and joined the Observatory in 2003.
holds a License degree in History (VUB) and a License degree in Comparative Cultural Studies (UG). He has spent many years working as a scientific researcher in the Department of Geography at the VUB, where he earned a PhD in 2007. He has worked for the Observatory since 2011.
