The Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage, responsible for the scientific study of works of art and conservation-restoration, is also compiling a photographic inventory of Belgian heritage. Art historians and photographers are travelling the length and breadth of the country to photography works; the photo library already has more than a million negatives, from black and white to digital! They are the visual memory of our country’s history of art and heritage. Nearly 650,000 photos are already available online.
