Description :

Improve the collaboration and efficiency of the current and future research on the marine biodiversity by coordinating the Belgian scientifc potential in this field.
Favor the exchanges between scientists, political authorities and the society representatives for the research on marine biodiversity to provide a real support to
- the preparation, application and follow-up of the decisions in fields such as fisheries, tourism, public health or transport.
- the implementation of the Convention on Biodiversity and of other Conventions issued from the Rio agreements.
Promote the integration of the Belgian research projects on marine biodiversity in the major international research programs.
