Research project HH/10/022 (Research action HH)
The ultimate objective of this project is to prevent the occurence of adverse effects of industrial chemicals on the kidney.
The first part of the project is devoted to the development and validation of sensitive tests for nephrotoxicity. These tests will find an application in conducting epidemiologic studies and in the health surveillance of workers at risk in industry.
The second part of the project stems from a large scale epidemiologic study on the impact of cadmium (an environmental pollutant) on diseases like diabetes (a degenerative disease).
