Study of the technical, economic and social aspects of reconverting and restructuring the Belgian arms industry within the framework of a European comparative research network (COST A 10).

Study of the Belgian armed forces’ restructuring: missions, means, and Army/nation relations. Survey of Belgian decision-makers and military officers.

1. Measuring how recent developments in the Belgian Armed Forces’ environment (professionalisation, downsizing, and operations abroad) are perceived by military personnel and the main Belgian decision-makers).
2. Seeing how these same people see the future of the Belgian Army (perception of threats, what missions, with what means, in what framework, and how).
