Research project SE/D7/01 (Research action SE)
This study examines the impact of the use of medical technologies on health care. It begins with the question of why the development of
scientific and medical technology takes place and why it influences the features of care delivery, particularly the professional characteristics of
care providers, the organisation of work, and the maintenance of patient autonomy. We examine the (possible) contribution of the actors of the
process of technology development and implementation. To do this, we extend existing research on Technology Assessment (TA) and TA
methodologies, on the analysis of task organisation, on professional profiles and the `professionalisation' of care providers, and on the quality of
life of patients. The project is a multidisciplinary social and scientific study.
