Research project SS/D6/06 (Research action SS)
Women aged 20-35 with few qualifications form a numerically large at-risk group, the characteristic of which is the difficulty its members face when seeking to enter the world of work - a world which offers them little reward apart from the fact of being employed itself. The project comprises a qualitative study of a small random sample of women aged 20-35 with low-paid jobs, with the objective of ascertaining how that group of poorly-qualified women see themselves and what their strategy is.
The central hypothesis is that the priority given by programmes to combat social exclusion to entering the world of work life hinders the exploration of other means of assisting the individuals in question and the innovative practices they themselves have developed.
