Within the domain of Connectivity and Secure Communications (CSC), ESA has different programmes, each with their own specificities:

  • The programme for Advanced Research in Telecommunication Systems aims at maintaining and increasing the industrial competitiveness of European States in the field of Satellite Telecommunications (SatComs).
CSS (Civil Security from Space)

CSS (Civil Security from Space)

  • Civil Security from Space Programme is a multi-disciplinary programme combining both upstream and downstream from Satcom, Navigation and Earth Observation domains, in order integrate European competencies in services to civil security stakeholders for monitoring, mitigating, and resolving civil security and crisis events.
ESA Sec Con (ESA Contribution to EU Secure Connectivity Programme IRIS²)

ESA Sec Con (ESA Contribution to EU Secure Connectivity Programme IRIS²)

  • Given the long standing and successful partnership between ESA and the European Commission in the space sector, ESA has established a new programme, ESA Contribution to EU Secure Connectivity Programme (ESA Sec Con) to set up development and validation activities with the selected private consortium(s) for the EU IRIS² Programme.
Moonlight

  • The Moonlight programme will bring connectivity to the Moon, in analogy with the Galileo navigation system around our Planet Earth.
