Call for research proposals (2023)

* Geohazards/geo-heritage

Focus on Mangrove ecosystems and on Karst geo-ecosystems, and in close relation to the MAB and IGGP UNESCO-programs.

Introduction

In the framework of the Agreement for science and technology cooperation between Belgium and Vietnam signed in 2002, a new call for research proposals is launched in September 2023.
The call ‘BIO-GEO’ is jointly launched by BELSPO and by MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam) on 16/10/2023.

This call is open to all research subjects that fall under one of the two following conditions:

  • They are linked to projects (≥2015) that are or have been supported by one of BELSPO's research programmes: BRAIN I, BRAIN II, STEREO, UNESCO-MAB, bi(Tri) lateral calls or also multi-lateral initiatives co-funded by BELSPO (such as JPI's and ERANETs/ COFUNDs related to biodiversity and climate change);
    or
  • They are related to projects of our Federal Scientific Institutions.

Evaluation criteria

The evaluation criteria are the following:

  • Scientific quality of the proposal
  • Quality of the network
  • Potential impact for science, society and decision-making
  • Adequacy of resources (value for money, along with the workplan adequacy and feasibility)
