Description :

Summary

Objectives of the networking
- Engage the existing (and potential future) network of RE-ORG programs and training coordinators (= the project partners) to design and launch an international competition in which museums who have reorganized their storage rooms (using the RE-ORG Method) will propose an innovative way of using their collections in storage to benefit their community and engage the audiences they serve;
- Work together to stimulate innovation by encouraging museums to develop projects and activities that will focus on using their collections to benefit the public;
- Influence decision makers and funding bodies to pay closer attention to collections at risk in storage;
- Mobilize the worldwide network to contact artists/artisans who are keen to design and produce a special object as a SHARE-ORG award (for the winner of the competition);
- Create an effective communication/dissemination strategy and an e-platform where all outputs of the contest (movies, videos, exhibitions, documentation…) and the SHARE-ORG project results get posted. It will serve as a powerful tool for the visibility of all partners and museums of the contest. It will inspire other museum professionals worldwide to develop similar activities, to engage decision makers and funding bodies;

• Design and plan an international SHARE-ORG event.

Long term perspective regarding institutional research cooperation
The existing and frequently used RE-ORG webpages (of ICCROM, CCI and KIK-IRPA) as well as all existing RE-ORG social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest) show already the guarantee of long lasting future network collaborations. We want to continue with this strong bonding factor.
Based on the long term and effective collaboration with ICCROM, CIK and CCI, to maximize the results of this cooperation and to ensure a wider impact of its work, we will add new partners (Diadrasis, ICOM Belgium Flanders and ICOM Belgium Wallonia-Brussels as well as ICOM National / Regional Committees and other International Committees.). We would like to formalise all collaborations via MoU’s between KIK-IRPA and all other partners. On the long term we would renew these MoU’s every 3 year.
All this will be used as the lever towards structural institutional partnerships between governmental conservation bodies, organizations who advocate on behalf of museums and museums worldwide.
