Each 'flash' project proposed by an FPS and/or a strategic policy cell has its own specific features and its own pace. In particular, the launch of the call, the closing date and the duration differ for each project. Each call for 'flash' projects is open to the entire Belgian scientific community (universities, higher education institutions, higher education institutions, higher education institutions of applied sciences, federal scientific institutions, public research centres, not-for-profit organisations having the pursuit of scientific research in their statutes).
For each 'flash' project, the research is described by the federal departments (and/or strategic policy cells) and summarised in an information file for the research teams. Interested research teams are asked to submit a proposal based on the information file specific to each 'flash' project.
The aim of the 'flash' projects is to obtain a tool that will enable a rapid response to urgent and time-limited research needs (3 to 12 months) in order to support political decision-making. The aim is therefore to rapidly mobilise existing scientific expertise or knowledge for decision-making, mainly in the form of a synthesis of evidence-based data to provide timely information for decision-making.
The promoters are asked to use the application form template to answer a Call for a Flash project.
The evaluation form template will be used by experts to assess the submitted proposals:
