Projecten
As 3: Cultureel, historisch en wetenschappelijk erfgoed

De federale Staat, en in het bijzonder de FWI's, verkrijgt, bewaart, restaureert, beheert en valoriseert collecties en archiefstukken die een materieel en immaterieel cultureel en wetenschappelijk origineel nationaal of internationaal erfgoed vormen - of eraan bijdragen. Door de aanwezige expertise draagt zij ook bij tot de valorisatie van het niet-federale erfgoed.
Dit erfgoed en de erop betrekking hebbende expertises moeten worden geëxploiteerd door (inter)disciplinair onderzoek dat het erfgoed en de expertises in hun sociale, artistieke, historische, geografische, milieugebonden, wetenschappelijke, technische, politieke, archeologische, linguïstische, literaire, muzikale, economische of culturele context plaatst, in een synchronische of diachronisch perspectief.

De onderzoeken omvatten onder andere wetenschappelijke inventarissen, monografische studies, in situ werkzaamheden, onderzoek van materialen en technieken alsook de analyses waarbij een beroep wordt gedaan op methoden die eigen zijn aan de verschillende betrokken disciplines. Ze zullen resulteren in werkzaamheden die nationaal en internationaal erkend worden en die verspreid zullen worden in de vorm van publicaties, conferenties, tentoonstellingen, met de bedoeling de kennis en het erfgoed in diverse maatschappelijke kringen ter beschikking te stellen.

      Oorlog, familie en transmissie
      Collaboratie en verzet tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog in de familiale en publieke herinnering in Belgie
      75 jaar na de bevrijding onderzoeken historici en psychologen van het Transmemoonderzoeksteam hoe Belgische families met een collaboratie- of verzetsverleden de oorlog en zijn nasleep herinneren en beleven. Zij nodigen u uit kennis te nemen van de onderzoeksresultaten en mee in dialoog te treden over een gevoelig verleden. In een dagvullend programma presenteert Transmemo de resultaten van het onderzoek en buigen politicologen, psychologen en historici zich over de erfenis van het verleden. Een helpdesk van specialisten geeft advies over bronnen om de eigen familiegeschiedenis te reconstrueren. Met artistieke interventies en een debat tussen opiniemakers van beide kanten van de taalgrens richt dit programma zich tot een breed publiek.

    • 19-10-2021- Symposium urbane gezondheid.
      Op 19 oktober 2021, organiseerden de Vrije Universiteit Brussel en de Universiteit Antwerpen in samenwerking met Belspo, Innoviris en de onderzoekspartners (UCLouvain, Sciensano, KULeuven, INBO, UHasselt) het Symposium "Urbane Gezondheid Brussel". Hierop presenteerden de twee onderzoeksprojecten Green & Quiet en NAMED de gemeten en gepercipieerde impact van de Brusselse leefomgeving op gezondheid en welzijn. Het symposium eindigde met een boeiend panelgesprek tussen actoren uit de omgevings- en gezondheidssector, met de aanwezigheid van een beleidsmaker.

      Facing Van Eyck. The Miracle of Detail
      Facing Van Eyck. The Miracle of Detail bekijkt het uitzonderlijke oeuvre van Jan van Eyck door een eigentijdse lens. Dankzij baanbrekende digitale technieken en nieuw wetenschappelijk onderzoek bij het Koninklijk Instituut voor het Kunstpatrimonium (KIK-IRPA) kom je dichter bij Van Eyck en zijn geheimen dan ooit tevoren. Neem een duik in de picturale microkosmos van Van Eyck door in te zoomen op landschappen, architectuur, textiel, menselijke figuren en alledaagse voorwerpen en onthul fascinerende details die met het blote oog nauwelijks zichtbaar zijn. Speciaal voor de tentoonstelling componeerde Benjamin Glorieux een op Van Eyck geïnspireerd stuk – geef niet alleen je ogen maar ook je oren de kost in deze zintuiglijke totaalervaring! Een rijk geïllustreerde film focust op de devotionele beelden van Jan van Eyck en verbindt hem met de Byzantijnse icoon. Door dieper in te gaan op de receptie en toe-eigening van Byzantijnse modellen in het werk van Van Eyck, verkent de film de religieuze en artistieke uitwisselingen tussen Oost en West in de 15e eeuw. ​​​Een nieuwe manier van kijken naar Jan van Eyck's oeuvre aan de hand van 20 gedigitaliseerde werken die je de radicaliteit en frisheid van zijn fascinerende beeldtaal laat zien!
